Abstract

We present a novel method for centroid gain estimation for quad-cell AO systems that allows to determine both the optimal centroid gains and the sodium layer thickness in the case of LGS AO. This method is based on a periodical introduction of perturbations in the wavefront followed by a lock-in detection of these perturbations.
