Hydrothermal Crystal Growth and Epitaxy in Garnet Systems

Abstract

Hydrothermal methods have been developed for the growth of YAG and LuAG single crystals. This technique allows for the growth of single crystals having multiple layers of optical functionality. Several preliminary examples are described.
