Abstract

The continuous-wave waveguide laser at 1064 nm was generated from a femtosecond laser inscribed Nd:YVO4 channel waveguide. Single-mode laser oscillations have been observed by an end-face optical pumping system at 808 nm with threshold power as low as 34 mW and laser slope efficiencies as high as 65%. The maximum output power was 254 mW with the absorbed pump power of 434 mW, resulting in an optical conversion efficiency of 58.5%.
