Abstract

Dr. Laura Smoliar, co-founder of the Berkeley Catalyst Fund, was an entrepreneur in the photonics space before starting a venture fund. Now, she has started a hybrid investment fund closely tied to UC Berkeley. She will talk about her journey from entrepreneur to investor, including the close ties she built in Asia that have colored her experiences.
