Miniaturized Optical Systems for Small Area Single Photon Avalanche Diodes

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Single Photon Avalanche Diodes (SPADs) are optical detectors with diameters ranging from few tens to few hundreds of microns. In case of single pixels, many research and industrial applications, such as Quantum Key Distribution systems, Particle Sizing measurements or single molecule experiments, require these detectors to be coupled with optic fibres.
