2 μm Fiber Laser and Amplifier Development

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Nufern is a world leader in developing fiber based laser sources for industrial, defense, and medical applications. In particular, employing Tm-doped fibers to generate light sources at 2 μm has been the subject of several R&D programs. Developing Q-switched fiber lasers, achieving 100 W CW laser operation, and demonstrating fiber amplification of ultrafast laser sources are the achievements of these programs. In this talk I will summarize these activities and present the latest results.
