Rapid screening for quality control and adulteration in anti-diabetic drugs: quantitative and qualitative analysis by LIBS

Abstract

Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy was evaluated for its potential as an analytical technique for the rapid screening and quality control in anti-diabetic tablets. In this work qualitative and quantitative API analysis was performed using Internal Standarization. In addition, four different excipients are studied in order to improve the qualitative characterization and classification of the pharmaceutical samples.
