Abstract

214 Gbps per lane PAM-4 transmissions are demonstrated with 25 GHz class commercial EML. Employing an improved MLSE algorithm enables the system to meet 10 km transmission with under KP4-FEC BER threshold requirement. The experiment results show the potential of commercial EML for 800 GbE application.
