Gain Characteristics of Few-mode Erbium-doped Fiber Amplifiers Pumped with Complex Mode Field

Abstract

We present a theoretical model of few-mode erbium-doped fiber amplifiers with complex mode fields and show that a tunable differential mode gain (DMG) can be realized by changing the components of LP11e,x and LP11o,y.
