Optical Reservoir-based Noise Compensation in a Space Division Multiplexing Transmission System

Abstract

We propose a nonlinear-optical loop mirror (NOLM)-based reservoir computing scheme to perform the noise compensation for a space-division multiplexing (SDM) transmission system, achieving the maximum Q2 of the recovered signal up to 65.52dB.
