Compact Silicon Mode Converter using Fast Adiabatic-evolution-based Y-junction with Wide Bandwidth

Abstract

A broadband mode converter based on an asymmetric Y-junction is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The device has a compact evolution length (<12 μm) and a wide bandwidth.
