Inverse Design of a CMOS-compatible Mode Exchange Device Based on Adjoint and Level Set Methods

Abstract

We have designed a CMOS-compatible TE0 and TE1 mode exchange device based on adjoint and level set inverse design method. The mode conversion efficiencies are both above 93% for TE0-TE1 and TE1-TE0 process.
