144Gb/s Two-Dimensional PAM-6 Trellis Coded Modulation Transmission for Data Center Applications

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate 2D PAM-6 TCM transmission and evaluate its performance against that of PAM-4. Up to 144Gb/s (72Gbaud) 2D PAM-6 TCM signal is achieved with prominent power sensitivity gain and BER improvement.
