Abstract

Distributed feedback Bragg fiber laser (DFB-FL)with Cu-coating is used as the sensing element to measure the static magnetic field. If the DFB-FL is perpendicular to the magnetic field, a current in the Cu-coating film will induce Ampere force perpendicular to the fiber. The Ampere force leads to the shift of the output wavelength of DFB-FL. Experiments show that a resolution of 0.27 μT/Hz1/2 is achieved using PGC demodulation method.
