Ultra-broadband Polarization Beam Splitter Based on a Tapered Bent Directional Coupler

Abstract

We numerically propose an ultra-broadband polarization beam splitter based on a tapered bent directional coupler. Lower than 1-dB insertion losses and over 10-dB extinction ratios of TE0 mode and TM0 mode are obtained over a wavelength range of 200 nm.
