Abstract

A distance-adaptive multilayer traffic grooming approach (MLTGA) is proposed to improve spectrum efficiency and to save power consumption and both IP-layer and optical-layer traffic grooming approaches (ILTGA and OLTGA) are introduced for comparison. Simulation results show that our proposed MLTGA has a better blocking probability and power consumption compared to ILTGA and OLTGA.
