Single Passband Microwave Photonic Filter using a Dual-Parallel Mach–Zehnder Modulator

Abstract

We present a novel approach to realize a phase-compensated tunable microwave photonic filter (MPF) via employing a dual-parallel Mach–Zehnder modulator (DPMZM). Proof-of-concept experimental results demonstrate a tunable single passband filter while exhibiting an improved selectivity.
