A Sign Bit Summation based Symbol Synchronization Method for Real-time IMDD-OOFDM Systems

Abstract

A low-complexity symbol synchronization method based on sign bit summation is proposed and implemented in FPGA-based real-time IMDD-OOFDM receivers. The proposed synchronization method can achieve an acquisition probability of 0.9999 under ROP of −20.5dBm.
