Unitary space-time codes in free-space optical communications

Abstract

A 4-pulse-position modulation (4-PPM) based on unitary space-time codes (USTC) is proposed for free space optical (FSO) communications. The simulation results show that the USTC has excellent error-rate characteristics and can suppress channel fading effects.
