Highly sensitive twist sensor based on CO2-laser-induced long period grating in few mode fibers

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate highly sensitive torsion sensor in few mode fiber long period grating written with CO2 laser method. Experiment shows the sensitivity is 0.5286 nm/(rad/m) with good linearity in a large twist range.
