A novel compact polarization beam splitter based on a graphene-embedded directional coupler

Abstract

A polarization beam splitter, utilizing two silicon waveguides with and without graphene multilayer embedded, is demonstrated with high extinction ratios (18.2 and 21.2 dB) and low ILs (0.18 and 0.36 dB) for two outputs, respectively.
