SOI-based Arrayed Waveguide Grating Router with grating couplers fabricated in a single shallow etching step

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a 8×8 arrayed waveguide grating router (AWGR) based on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) platform. The minimum insertion loss and the crosstalk are 1.90 dB and -15 dB, respectively.
