Demonstration of Optical Signal to Noise Ratio Monitoring Based on Sagnac Interferometer in Polarization Division Multiplexed Systems

Abstract

In this paper, we demonstrate the OSNR monitoring method using Sagnac interferometer (SI) in polarization division multiplexed (PDM) systems. The proposed method is investigated with power mismatch, polarization dependent loss (PDL) and filtering frequency offset.
