On-chip Optical Mode Multicasting Using Tapered Directional Coupler

Abstract

We propose an on-chip optical mode multicasting device with three channels by using tapered directional couplers. The simulation results show efficient modes excitation and effective mode multicasting with a less than 0.4 dB insertion loss.
