An optical true-time-delay unit for independent beamforming of multiple RF signals

Abstract

A multi-beamforming unit based on optical true-time-delay and microwave photonic filters, which can work in both transmit and receive mode, is proposed. Controllable delays up to ~1.4 ns with a ~69-ps step are experimentally demonstrated.
