Software Defined Elastic Optical Networking

Abstract

We discuss a new software defined networking paradigm based on elastic optical networking which exploits flexible resource utilization and facilitates virtualization of physical layer. Optical supervisory channel enables adaptive network operation equipped with observe-analyze-act cycle.
