Soliton self-frequency shift and two-stage spectral compression for resolution improvement of all-optical ADC

Abstract

We demonstrate a soliton self-frequency shift of ~150 nm and two-stage spectral compression in nonlinear fibers with femtosecond pulses. Experimental results indicate that a resolution of 6 bits for all-optical ADC can be achieved.
