Chaotic Correlation Optical Time Domain Reflectometry Using Wideband Chaotic Light from a SOA Ring

Abstract

We propose a chaotic correlation optical time domain reflectometry (CCOTDR) based on a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) ring structure. The CCOTDR realizes a range-independent resolution of 1.66cm and its dynamic range is 25km at least.
