Abstract

An ultra-compact arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) with straight arrayed-waveguides and Bragg reflectors is designed and demonstrated experimentally. The AWG has 400GHz channel spacing and 9 channels. The footprint of the array part is only 130×100μm2.
