Enabling ultramicroscopy with partly immersed SiO2 microspheres

Abstract

We experimentally confirm that an irresolvable sample of sub-wavelength feature could be resolved by a microscope when partly immersed 6μm SiO2 microspheres are utilized. A detailed analysis is also given with the FDTD simulation.
