Upconverting Fluorescent Nanoparticles for Bioimaging and Therapy

Abstract

Upconverting nanoparticles present a new technology for light based imaging/detection and therapy. They can be used for ultrasensitive interference-free biodetection because most biomolecules do not have upconversion properties. They are also useful for photodynamic therapy.
