Abstract

A novel silicon hybrid plasmonic waveguide with an inverted metal nano-rib separated from a silicon-on-insulator by a low-index material. The silicon hybrid plasmonic waveguide enables a mode area of ~10−5λ2 and a 3μm-long propagation distance.
