High Sensitivity Long-Period Fiber Gratings Written in Tapered Fibers by CO2 Laser

Abstract

We demonstrated the fabrication of long-period fiber gratings in the tapered fibers using CO2 laser. The sensing response of the gratings was investigated experimentally. Highly sensitive wavelength tuning was achieved with the polymer packaged grating.
