Refractive index sensitivity characteristics of fiber taper long-period grating

Abstract

In this paper, numerical simulations and experimental demonstrations of refractive index sensitivity characteristics of CO2-laser-writing long-period grating in fiber taper are presented, with a high sensitivity about 2733.28nm/RIU in the external RI range of 1.4490-1.4537.
