Bidirectional Single-Ring-Architecture Self-Protected TDM Passive Optical Network

Abstract

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a protection apparatus in ring-architecture time-division-multiplexed passive optical network with self-healing mechanism against the fiber fault promptly. Besides, the proposed system performances are also measured and analyzed.
