Abstract

Performance evaluation of WDM optical fiber networks for bit rates up to 160 Gbps was investigated and effect of seasonal temperature variations for Muscat area studied. Compensation of these variations using adjustable length of dispersion compensation fiber (DCF) was performed and system performance was studied by simulation.
