Efficient Protection and Grooming Architecture for Optical Networks

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Internet services and applications require high reliability and different bandwidth that need to be supported over the high capacity wavelength channels. We will present a short overview of issues in design of wavelength division multiplexing, efficient protection, and access and grooming mechanisms to make the network transparent, scalable, reliable, and simple.
