Brillouin Scattering in Raman-Pumped Fibers: An Experimental Investigation

Abstract

We study the impact of the distributed second order Raman amplification on Brillouin Scattering in a long haul fiber system experimentally. Experimental results show that, both the Brillouin scattering efficiency at high powers and the Brillouin threshold are reduced.
