Solitons with tuneable dynamical properties: The dispersion relation of atomic Josephson vortices

Abstract

Linearly coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations support localised, soliton-like excitations with vorticity. Here we report the dispersion relation of such atomic Josephson vortices and discuss their relevance for experiments with atomic and polaritonic condensates.
