Tunable 3D waveguide circuits using ultrafast laser waveguide writing and subtractive laser machining

Abstract

We report the fabrication of reconfigurable photonic elements in glass using a combination of ultrafast waveguide inscription and subtractive laser machining. The phase response of the waveguide circuits is thoroughly characterised.
