Abstract
We present the design of a horizontally staggered lightguide solar concentrator with lateral displacement tracking for high concentration applications. This solar concentrator consists of an array of telecentric primary concentrators, a horizontally staggered lightguide layer, and a vertically tapered lightguide layer. The primary concentrator is realized by two plano-aspheric lenses with lateral movement and maintains a high -number over an angle range of . The results of the simulations show that the solar concentrator achieves a high concentration ratio of with of acceptance angle by a single-axis tracker and dual lateral translation stages.
