Abstract

We use polarization-selective ultrafast 2D IR and pump-probe infrared spectroscopy to probe the joint orientational and spectral dynamics of dilute HOD in D2O. Our experiments show rapid reorientation concurrent with the return of strained or broken hydrogen bonds to a stable configuration.
