Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a Newton support vector machine (N-SVM)-based nonlinear equalizer (NLE) of reduced classifier complexity for 40-Gb/s 16-QAM CO-OFDM. At 2000-km N-SVM extends the launched optical power by 2-dB compared to Volterra-based NLE.
