Fundamental and Practical Limits of Nonlinear Transmission in Optical Fiber

Abstract

Kerr induced distortion in fiber has been canonized as “nonlinear Shannon capacity limit”. In this talk, we discuss reasons behind this erroneous designation and describe means for practical removal of Kerr-induced distortion in fiber. Article not available.
