High Temperature Metasurface Emitter for Thermophotovoltaic Energy Conversion

Abstract

We demonstrated selective emission from a platinum and alumina metasurface that can survive repeated temperature cycling at 1300 K. The emitter is designed to be part of a >20% efficient thermophotovoltaic power source.
