Abstract

The influence of intrinsic and extrinsic defects on small bound hole polarons is investigated in LiNbO3 and KNbO3 via ESA spectroscopy. Intrinsic defects most probably change the polaron absorption, extrinsic defects affect the relaxation of hole polarons.
