Abstract

The optical properties of a Fabry-Pérot quantum cascade laser are characterized in a self-heterodyne interferometric measurement scheme. The narrow linewidths of the self-heterodyne beat notes indicate the ultimate resolution limits of multi-heterodyne spectrometers based on these laser sources.
