Experimental Studies of Phase Fluctuations in Free-Space Optical Communications

Abstract

This paper experimentally studied the probability density function (PDF) and variance of phase fluctuations caused by atmospheric turbulence in an outdoor free-space optical (FSO) communication channel. Experimental results match well with theoretical models we presented.
