Nonlinear Post-Compression of Mid-IR Pulses Using Multi-Pass Cells

Abstract

We report numerical simulations showing self-compression of mid-IR pulses in a multi-pass cell. Balancing of self-phase modulation and material dispersion yields few-cycle pulses for λ0 = 1.8, 3 and 6 μm wavelengths while mitigating self-focusing.
