Abstract

Fluorescence microscopy (FM) is one of the most powerful tools used in biomedical and biological research and in diagnostic. We are proposing a novel hyperspectral imaging (HI) technology based on a low finesse scanning Fabry-Perot (F-P) cavity and a Fourier transform based algorithm which allows high efficiency in photon collection with respect to traditional HI methods. The technology applied to FM has the advantage of allowing multilabeled analysis without the need of selective filters in turn leading to a faster, simpler and more efficient instrument. Working principle and obtained results in the spectral discrimination of different fluorescent materials will be given.
